  • Learn the basics of bed bug abatement! This workshop is a general overview of what to expect in the bed bug treatment process. Topics covered include identifying bed bugs, contacting and contracting a pest control operator, preparing a unit, and learning types of treatment and follow-up procedures. This workshop is a great introduction for individuals with little experience with bed bugs.

  • IPM Strategies

  • Are there ways of combating the problem without solely relying on highly toxic chemicals? Integrated Pest Management, or IPM, takes a holistic approach to pest control that includes prevention, early detection and control methods. Find out how to treat your property in the safest possible way.

  • The Financial Impact

  • Many people balk at the price of bed bug treatment, preferring home remedies or low-cost pest control treatments. However, cutting corners can lead to more expenses in the long run. What is the most cost-effective way to combat bed bugs? We will compare two approaches.

  • Property Management Rights & Responsibilities

  • A closer look at the laws that govern bed bugs as they relate to property management. This workshop covers treatment timelines, fiscal responsibilities and guidance on gaining tenant cooperation. Learn your rights as well as your responsibilities with regards to bed bug treatment.

  • Prevention can be one of the most important aspects of the overall picture. Learn about preventive measures such as move-in inspections, bed bug resistant furniture, and room defense. Learn to avoid high-risk behaviors and discover the best tools for detecting and responding to a bed bug infestation before it gets out of control.

  • Bridging the Gap Between Landlords and Tenants

  • You both have the same goal: get rid of the bed bugs. Yet, somehow you can’t see eye to eye on how to make it happen. This workshop will cover common problems that arise between tenants and landlords during the bed bug abatement process and will offer solutions for making the abatement process go more smoothly for both parties.

  • After prevention, early detection is the best method we have to stop the spread of bed bugs. This workshop provides hands-on experience searching for bed bugs. Our licensed pest control operator will take you on a tour of the bed bugs’ favorite hiding places and will demonstrate the best bed bug detection techniques.

  • When Two Issues Collide: Hoarding and Bed Bugs

  • The issues of hoarding and bed bugs have gained increasing attention in the media. The stigma associated with each of these issues often creates incredible barriers to successful bed bug treatment. Learn how to negotiate with tenants and work through the issue of stigma to reach a successful treatment plan in a cluttered unit.
